Ariel Rosenberg, spokesman for the Ministry of Housing and Construction, says the housing units are among 3,000 new settlement homes Israel promised to build in in response to the Palestinians’ bid for upgraded status at the United Nations last month.

Rosenberg says in the coming months, Israel will issue tenders for building in a number of settlements, some deep inside the West Bank.

Hagit Ofran of anti-settlement watchdog group Peace Now says it would take about a year before building begins.

Earlier Wednesday, a Jerusalem municipal committee gave its approval for a new settlement in east Jerusalem.

The planned construction on occupied territories claimed by the Palestinians has drawn fierce international condemnation.

Perhaps they chance the name to medinat Chelem.
One day they evict jews from chevron and on the next day they build new houses in east jerusalem. Why don’t they just allow the jews to live in chevron and no new building is necessary?

FYI, although the article says “East Jerusalem” that is per the “Green Line”. Ramat Shlomo is not an Arab neighborhood at all. It is in between the neighborhoods of Sanhedria Murchevet and Ramot.

Nothing good will come of this. Only Hashem decides if the Bnai Yisroel is to settle Eretz Yisroel, not us. Remember what happened after the Jews tried to conquer Eretz Canaan after the aveirah of the Miraglim? Moshe warned them not to attack because Hashem was not with them. They didn’t listen and they were devastated by the enemy. The Jewish Nation today is not in such good shape – we have bullies running a Vaad Hatznius, we have Jews in Israel who have never opened a siddur, we have crooks in this country stealing from the government. Who is to say if we have the right to build?

Please. Who is to say? You are not to say, certainly. How about naming all the good that we do to deserve to build? Bikur Cholem, tsedaka for those needing food ( Tomche Shabbost and others), Kipatorem help, Tuition free yeshiva for many, etc. Why can’t we own homes on our land? The diaspora Jews were often not allowed to own in many countries. But this is our country and we should be able to own property without fear of reprisal.

Somebody should inform the world that we Ramat Shlomo people don’t live in a settlement in East Jerusalem…we are in Northern Jerusalem! Not an Arab area at all!
Look how even Jewish sites call us East Jerusalem!
Even “East Jerusalem” was in Jewish hands till ’48. So for just 19 out of Jewish hands, yet all of the media speak as if conquered for the first time in history in ’67…ignoring thousands of yrs…Is it ignorance or just simply Antisemitism?

Hashem has taken away the land from these people and given it to us. See what Yiftach told the King of Amon. Baruch Hashem there are some great people out there who are transitional figures (between the time when the secular were the decision makers and when the religious will be in charge). Benyamin Netanyahu is one of them. With 2/3 of his children religious, he is the perfect person for this role.

The difference between Bibi and Abas:
When Israel wants Revenge on Abas UN Bid, Bibi orders to build more homes,
when Abas wants revenge he sends terrorists to Kill People.
