the woman, from Lebanon, entered the United States in 1989 on a student visa and earned citizenship through a sham marriage.
While officials say there is no evidence of actual espionage and no evidence that she was working as a spy, she is accused of passing information to sympathizers of Hezbollah, a group the U.S. has labeled a terrorist organization.
Sources say she came under suspicion after performing a number of computer searches unrelated to cases she had been assigned to. [CBS News]
VIN News has also learned that this woman worked for a short while at the CIA.
It’s great that the gov’t actively recruits Arabs for sensitive positions. It’s part of the American fascination with some mythical version of Araby–that despite all the horrors that emanate from that part of the world, we still treat them as though they are all peace-loving, patriotic individuals.
Guess the reason is because Pollard did something worse. He found intel that implicated the US in a host of no-no’s. He probably didn’t even know what he had when he handed it over to the Israelis. But, it looks like they went back to the source (the powers that be) and made some very powerfull people in DC very nervous. They say that some of the pictures he passed along had Iran-Contra intel and of course implicated Washington in that mess. Ollie North was only the fall guy. For an operation of that size there had to be sign-offs by many agencies and high ranking people perhaps even the President. Could he have had the actuall footage of arms that went missing? Could the US (in those pics) have been supplying terrorist. The very same ones we are now fighting?
If they release him it can all come out. If they kill him there would be a massive investigation and it would come out too. So they keep him shuttered.
I think that as soon as the Iran Contra scandal becomes irrelevent, (perhaps another 5-10 years) they no longer will keep him.
I only hope that he can last that long. Hashem should help him.
Those were exactly my thoughts!
Point to Ponder
(With my apologies to Readers Digest for ripping off their “Point to Ponder” trademark.)
Why is it that these FBI turncoats
usualy get off with a slap on the wrist while Pollard languishes in jail.
Hizbollah=Terrorist
Pollard on the other hand gave info to whom?
Just thinking out loud.
