Monsey, NY – FBI Informant Boasted Of ‘Big Bust’ Coming

    43

Monsey, NY – Having boasted to close friends and associates for weeks that a “big bust” of local pols by the FBI was in the works reports the NY Post (http://bit.ly/Yy7dru), few are surprised to learn that bankrupt local developer Moses “Mark” Stern has been identified as the confidential informant who teamed up with the Feds to nab Sen. Malcolm Smith and five others.

DNAinfo.com (http://bit.ly/Zdfofv) is reporting that Stern has made it his mission to get “close” to local pols for years, and that one close associate even said Stern routinely collects “dirt” on elected officials for a what he termed—a “rainy day.”

Stern, who’s clout relies heavily on his ability to control the financial sway of Monsey’s Orthodox community, has played key roles in the outcomes of many elections, including that of State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Stern, known for his grandiose lifestyle and boastful demeanor, has a well-documented history of shady dealings and criminal behavior.

According to lohud.com (http://lohud.us/10BHxHc) Stern was arrested and charged with fraud in Rockland County three years ago, and in 2010 a Supreme Court Judge ordered Stern to pay $111M in restitution to Citigroup over a shady real-estate deal.

In an ongoing civil case in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Stern stands accused of defrauding a Long Beach, California real-estate company of $13M. In February, a judge in that case ruled there was ample evidence that Stern committed fraud, forgery, and “other potential” crimes.

According to authorities, Stern pleaded guilty to federal charges last month, but the records for that case have been sealed until a resolution is reached in the civic corruption case.

How, exactly, does he control the “financial sway of Monsey’s Orthodox community”?

With each day going by we religious Jews the respect we once had are gone.
Finished are those days when people in the secular world knew that doing business with a religious Jew is the safest thing we were trust worthy where a word was more then a written contract.

The chilul hashem this man made is mind- boggling.

The damage he did to religious Jews can NEVER be rectified.Im afraid when DA Hynes said a while back that “Orthodox Jews uses mafia tactics” was correct.
And silly people posting here on VIN stating “they give credit for this guy that he didn’t inform on other Jews”. People reading comments like this don’t you think it brings out bad blood by non-Jew.Plus,i bet that its in plan for him to do that as well.

#4 , #5 , and #17 (whose comment is particularly disturbing and reeks of prejudice): What does all of this have to do with being Jewish or Chassidish? Less than scrupulous individuals have been around forever and they come in the form of any and every religion / race / creed / culture. The beauty of our people is that we have less of them among us than can be found in the gentile populace. This is not to excuse them, just to state a fact. And anyone who will use this happening to smear Jews in general is a Jew-hater to begin with.
