Brooklyn, NY – Saying that it is in the “best interest” of a full “house cleaning,” State Sen. Marty Golden says he has asked U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara to reveal the name of the mysterious figure known only as “County Chairman #1” in the Smith-Halloran scandal.

BROOKLYN DAILY (http://bit.ly/YQxbGN) is reporting that Golden said that, despite the fact that “County Chairman #1” has not been charged, it is a “necessary service” to Republicans that “County Chairman #1” come forward and resign, effective immediately.
Speculation as to the real identity of the shadowy figure has been rampant since the scandal broke, with many pointing to either Kings County GOP chairman Craig Eaton or Manhattan chairman Dan Isaacs as leading suspects.
Golden says he, personally, has “no” suspects, and that his sole interest is in ridding the GOP of people willing to “sell the party.”
