Assad’s comments were his first since the airstrikes. He spoke Tuesday after a meeting with Ali Akbar Salehi, the Iranian foreign minister, who was visiting Damascus.

Assad stopped short of promising retaliation, but said the Syrians “are capable of facing Israel’s ventures.”

He also accused Israel of supporting “terrorists” in Syria. The Syrian government refers to rebels fighting to topple Assad’s regime as terrorists.

Israel officials say Israel carried out airstrikes to target weapons near Damascus that were bound for the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon.

It’s so obvious the Iranians are egging this total loser on.
When Israel struck the missile base, he was quivering in his boxers, now all of a sudden after a visit from the iranian foreign minister he comes out boxing.

He’s still the same nebach case he was a few years ago when Israeli warplanes flew over his palace in Damascus, going into super sonic mode right above his palace for maximum noise effect in a pre-dawn warning fly over.
He did zilch then and he’ll do, you guessed it, zilch now!

Assad is incapable of facing his own illequpped insurgents, and he’s going to take on a well trained well eqipped military? For 2 years he’s been unable to put down his own peoples rebellion.

I believe it may have been Shimon Peres who said it best:

The Syrians are wiling to fight Israel to the last Lebanese.

I am not sure I would take this guy’s military opinions too seriously.
