Rabbi Moishe Arye Friedman, who is the Chief of the Anti-Zionist Community of Austria, his wife Lea and six of their seven children returned to their home in Vienna recently after almost two months in Iran at the guest house of the government of Iran.

After returning they say they founded out that all their belongings have been stolen.

“Austrian Zionist Jewish Community leaders have admitted having conducted burglary and theft at my house,” Friedman told Press TV on Sunday.

In a statement last week to the Austrian Press Agency (APA) the Austrian Zionist Jewish Community known as the IKG (Israelitische Kultus Gemeinde) officially admitted being behind the burglary, he said.

MOSHE: He’s the Chief Rabbi of the Anti Zionist Jews of Austria and he can’t even get a minyon together? Can’t he find 9 “anti Zionist” men in all of Vienna? I assume that he has that problem in Iran also.

Mr. Moshe Frienman has NO Minyan here in Vienna, never mind on the weekedays but not even on shabos and Yomtov.

7:13, you wrote very kindly, politely, & respectfully, but as far as I can tell, no one wishes this person harm. But no one appears to wish him well either. By that I mean (I = ME) I wouldn’t lift a finger to help him unless his physical life was in danger, as I am obligated to. As for his spiritual life…I am not G-d’s Shamash.

The question was why doesn’t his wife & family leave him? One response was that they’re terrified of him.

True or false? We don’t know. But this was speculation that they couldn’t escape. No one wants harm to his family. I didn’t read that anywhere.

I really am very concerned that so much anger & misinformation is generated on this & other sites because posters respond to things that they have not read carefully.

Finally, I must respectfully disagree with your view that Friedman is Moser Nefesh for his views. I don’t call it Meseirus Nefesh; I call it a psychopathic publicity-based obsession with destroying Israel & Zionists. He is is NOT out to save Jews.

I believe it is very sad that some one writes that his family should leave him.

And, YES, Satmar and others put him in a sort of Cherem, and protested when he came to Boro Park. Though I do believe this misguided man means well, and is following his conscience. His attending that Holocaust denier’s conference was certainly horrible.

I would agree with Cherem like actions, but to want his family to leave him? That is paying wrong with wrong.

How can the voice protesting his stupid actions be heard if it is full of hatred and evil thoughts towards him.

Every man deserves for his family to stand by him. I believe his family must be very special to stand by him. This also tells me that there must be some awesome wonderful qualities about him to make this true.

Though we do need to put him in a sort of Cherem, we need to do so without losing our Ahavas Yisroel.

This man is a Yid who is doing what he believes in with Misirus Nefesh. Even though we disagree hotly, we can have the courage to at least give him credit for that, and not wish him harm.

We should also realize that he believes his actions are saving Jews, and maybe the lives of many Jews from a future disaster.
He believes that making friends with those people, and showing them that the actions of the Zionist are not supported by All Jews, and that just because one is a Jew does not mean one is a Zionist, will help stop the haters of Zionism apply their hatred towards all Jews.

Part of his goal is to save the Jewish People from Moslem extermination! He is moser nefesh for this goal!
He may be wrong, but he is not stupid or crazy, and is a well intended person.

Attending that Holocaust Denier’s conference was a slap in the face to all who were in the camps, both those who perished and those who survived, including the Satmar Rebbe, and was wrong. We just about all agree that was wrong.

But, this man knows he has Yidden worldwide angry at him. He has lost much by continuing his actions. But he perseveres.
WHY? Because he is a maniac? NO

He perseveres because he believes his program to show that Judaism and Zionism are not the same will save another possible holocaust!

And, he is giving up so much to do this.

I do disagree with him, but I must admire his mesiras nefesh at the same time.

I want the world to know I am against some of what he did, but I do not wish him harm. He is my fellow Jew, and I will persevere in seeing good in him despite my disagreement.

Just because I disagree with some of his actions, I wish him and his family well.

Stop to think for a minute. If YOU were convinced that the Medina will fall soon in a war with the Arab neighbors, would YOU have the courage this man has to go into their midst to try to get them to realize that just because they take the land back, they should not exterminate the people?! Not many of us have that courage. I know I don’t. But I respect him for his.

He is showing his love for us by these actions. Trying to save our lives. Will a new holocaust (if such a war does happen) be limited to Jews in that part of the world, or may it spread?

We can disagree but still respect.
We can disagree and still love.

That loving relative of yours who did something you hated when you were a kid, something that was not really good for you, but did it thinking it was “for your own good”…. You hated the action, and knew he/she was wrong, but you did not hate the relative for it.

Did everything your parents do for you that you did not like turn out the way they thought? Certainly not all the time. But we still love them.

Sorry for rambling on so much, but I get very emotional when I see people saying such mean things and wishing harm to a man and his family … to am man and his family who are trying so hard to do good, even if I disagree with his methods.

to 9:52…I’m sure they could escape if they wanted to. If he’s so hated in Vienna everyone would be happy to rescue them. Maybe they don’t want to leave him. it’s very sad if that’s the case.

How many followers out of the 10,000 Jews in Austria does the Chief of the Anti-Zionist Community of Austria have besides his wife Lea and six of their seven children? Somehow I don’t think Moshe Arye Friedman has a big following. How do his followers manage while he spends months in Tehran? Where to they go for a tisch while he’s away

Na, just a slow shipment on its way to Iran. Go back now. It should be there by the time you get back. No moving charges.

Hasn’t anyone (Eda HaCharedis or some authority) put this moron & his family in Cherem? His wife & kids go along with him so I guess they agree with his mishegass.

What’s scary is he looks fairly young, so he has lots of time to continue his “good work.”

Does he or anyone really believe the Jewish community in Vienna admits to any of this garbage? It’s so preposterous it’s pure comedy!!

The man’s a real sicko living in a fantasy. I think he wants to be the next Ayatollah in Iran. I don’t think I we’re allowed to wish him a Refuah Shleima. I actually don’t.

So Anonymous #1 , you know so much about what happened? Were you involved? The lawsuit about the sefer Torah case was ruled in his favor! And this time his house was cleaned out. So what ELSE do you know? This time, the legal cases are going to get pretty complicated for the Zionists. In Iran he spent Simchas Torah in a shul in Tehran. YES, in a shul in Tehran, for those of you who believe Iranian Jews are being exterminated in Iran! He has had alot of contact with local Jews. But of course for frum Zionists such Jews don’t count and should evidently go up in smoke when the Zionists attack Iran.

I disagree 100% with Friedman’s ideology, but he is entitled to his beliefs.
What bothers me is that there are Jewish political prisoners in Iran, who are being held there solely because they’re Jewish. The Iranians don’t tell the families if the prisoners are alive or dead, and wives are agunot. WHY WON’T THIS FRIEDMAN TAKE UP THIS CAUSE WHEN HE MEETS WITH AHMADINIJAD? IS PIDYON SHEVUYIM ALSO ZIONISM?
For more info on the prisoners, see the Washington Post:

WHERE in HEAVEN did you get this propaganda news from????
Friedman stole two Sefer Toires from the Lorbeergasse-Shul and kept them in his home. They were actually private property of some balei batim in Vienna. While Friedman was in Iran, some people managed to get into the apartment and return the Sifre Toirah to their rightful owners.
