Sunday, a family woke to find their home at 103 Avenue and Southwest 141 Street had been targeted by a vandal, or vandals, who scrawled profanity and anti-Jewish statements on the sides of the building and a surrounding concrete fence.
Concerned neighbors said they are shocked that someone could put messages of hate, like “kill the Jews” and swastikas, on the walls of the home just days after the end of the Hanukkah. [cbs4]
The FBI also got involved since some of the hateful messages spilled onto the street, which is public property.
i enjoy going to miami beach during the winter. sad thing is that most of the kosher hotels are gone now. we usually rent an apt and eat out.
there are some nice restaurants in north miami beach too.
mmmmmmm warmth and sunshine….sounds good to me as i sit here in nyc in 30 degrees, windchill 22 .lol
i live in miami, just for the record, the dunkin doughnuts are not pas yosroel, yashon, or chalav yisroel!
the cost of living here is more expensive then in ny….taxes and insurance will kill you before the mortgage! chinuch a joke here!
I like Cine Citta Cafe in Surfside best. Its dairy. If I am going to ruin my diet, it will be there!!!
I am a big fan of Pita places, especially shwarma. In my opinion they are all good, I haven’t found a bad one yet, from South Beach to Hollywood. Levy’s in Hollywood is my favorite though. I would have Ofer cater my daughter’s wedding, if he would.
Grill Time in North Miami on Biscayne near 163rd is excellent. It’s a nice place too.
I love Lankry’s in Hollywood, Mrs.Lankry caters but also sells take out. And Sarah’s Tent is excellent and fresh if you are in North Miami or Aventura and just want something quick.
I am not a restaurant reviewer or anything, but I do enjoy my food.
When I was there a year ago, Dunkin Donuts opened a kosher branch in miami beach and all the yidden from all around together with the police went there to enjoy their good qualty coffee and Donuts, for me it was a welcome sign to miami.
Pray tell us which “best” restaurants you’d suggest for someone visiting Miami and also for that matter someone living in Miami.
Sadly, here in Miami we are constantly being reminded that we are in Galut. We have had a number of shul vandalisms, lots of hate crimes and other incidents. Marriott hotels has been particularly anti Semitic abusing Jewish guests and canceling a Pesach program.
I personally blame it on this Pope and the return of the Old Latin Mass among Hispanics in which Jews are blamed for killing JC. This time of year Xtians get into their faith with more intensity and there are bound to be more incidents.
Please vacation in Miami this winter and support the Jewish community here. We need some chizuk in my opinion. And we have some of the best kosher restaurants anywhere.
