Monroe, NY – Rescuers are continuing their search for Shimon Zorger, the 10 year old boy who went missing last night in Kiryas Joel. Zorger, a Brooklyn resident, was visiting the area at the time of his disappearance and is said to be four feet tall and weigh 65 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and white shirt when he wandered away from his father on Lizensk Boulevard, a cul de sac surrounded by woods.

The search was called off at 4 AM this morning and is being started up again this morning, according to Moses Witriol, director of the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Patrol, who said that helicopters are being brought in to help in the search for the missing autistic boy.
“We believe he is still in Kiryas Joel,” Witriol told VIN News. Rescue teams including state troopers, K-9 units, forest rangers, the Kiryas Joel Public Safety office and Chaverim are in the process of coordinating the plans for today’s search.
Rescuers searched the V’Yoel Moshe school, which backs onto Lizensk Boulevard, last night and Chaverim confirmed that Zorger was seen in that area last night.
“All the doors to the school and the busses are locked,” said a Chaverim dispatcher who also confirmed that the Kiryas Joel Public Safety office has requested that all boys in the village wear white shirts today in an effort to make Zorger easier to locate.
Zorger also went missing last Thursday, when he wandered off in Williamsburg, and was later located.
The public is asked to continue saying Tehillim for Shimon ben Raizel Devorah as rescuers and volunteers continue to look for the missing boy.
Anyone with any information regarding Shimon Zorger’s whereabouts is asked to contact the State Police at 845-782-8311 or the Kiryas Joel Public Safety Office at 845-782-5577.
