Rockland County, NY – Paintball Shooting Suspects Held On Bail; Told Police They Went To “Monsey To Shoot Jews”

    35

Rockland County, NY – The three suspects charged with shooting at members of Ramapo’s Jewish volunteer group Chaverim with an assault-rifle-style paintball gun while yelling anti-Semitic slurs late Wednesday night were arraigned in Ramapo Town Court on Thursday and transported to Rockland County Jail after informing the court that they could not afford to post bail.

LOHUD.com (http://lohud.us/1cgSMjU) is reporting that all three suspects; Shashi Ramsaroop, 23, of North Carolina and formerly of 31 Cottage Place, Nanuet; Lindsey Peaks, 20, of North Carolina and formerly of 55 Ewing Ave., Spring Valley; and Demetrius Latrell Toraine, 19, of 244 N. Main St., Spring Valley were charged with one count each of felony second-degree assault as a hate crime, as well as with two misdemeanor counts of second-degree aggravated harassment, and singular counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and third-degree criminal tampering.

Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence said the suspects informed police while being interviewed that they went to “Monsey to shoot Jews.”

“This is a hate crime,” said St. Lawrence.

Bail for Ramsaroop, who police say is the shooter, was set at $50,000, while bail for both Peaks and Toraine, who police say is Peak’s brother, was set at $25,000.

As Judge David Stein stated the names of the victims in issuing an order that the suspects stay away from them should they make bail, Ramsaroop snapped, “I don’t even know what they look like.”

“I don’t have $50,000,” Ramsaroop told Judge Stein.

Ramsaroop and Peaks told the judge that they are engaged to be married and that Peaks is pregnant.

The couple said in court that they are former Rockland residents who currently reside in North Carolina, but had returned for a visit.

Community leaders are urging calm amid an already tension-filled climate between Ramapo’s Orthodox Jewish community and immigrant and black communities over zoning and public school funding issues.

“I don’t want people to get over-excited,” said Yossi Gestetner, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish Blooger. “It’s a serious case. It’s not a joke. But I don’t’ want people to push buttons that will not be helpful and will divide our town and community more than it already is.”

All three suspects are due back in court on August 13th.

Having played paintball, one of those paintballs in the eye and the eye likely cannot be saved. Moreover, as much as I criticize the way Chasidim operate in Rockland, these criminals must be made an example of.

Just when a hasid committed a crime it is splashed all over “Hasid did so and so”.
The news should be “black thugs attacked Jews”

The self hating Jews trying to blame the favoritism to orthodox Jews in Ramapo is the cause of this incident are equal thugs as these black thugs.

Orthodox Jews will never physically attack a non-Jew if the non-Jew was favored. Lets be honest you self hating Jews, only non-Jews and yes blacks will riot and physically attack Jews. The non-Jewish community in Ramapo can only do what they do with the help of self hating Jews..
Really sad how low Jews can stoop to incite gentiles against Jews.

See, Peaks is pregnant first and then engaged to be married, in a sane socitey it’s the other way around, first engaged to be married and then and only then would Peaks be pregnant.

Therein lies the problem with these choleras!

Paintball is obviously not a harmless sport. It should be illegal except in restricted areas. Whoever thought up this kind of entertainment is sick in the head.

a few quotes from the article in lohud:
But Wilbur Aldridge said no one should be surprised at the eruption of violence in Ramapo.

Cassandra Edwards, a Ramapo community activist with children in the East Ramapo public schools, also condemned the incident but said it wasn’t surprising given the level of tension in the community. “I think this is only the beginning,” she said.

Wilbur – I was surprised by such a disgusting lowlife display of violence in Ramapo. I couldn’t imagine anyone doing such a thing. I guess in your world shooting people coming from Nanuet and North Carolina to shoot Jews is not so surprising. maybe because of all the hate that you and others of your ilk have been spouting.

Cassandra – you weren’t surprised and label this “the beginning” – the beginning of what? assaults on innocent Jewish men (does this include women and children also by Jew-hating youth hanging on every word by people like you? well the next time it happens and the Jewish man pulls out a licensed (to carry) handgun and shoots back, don’t go crying – rather don’t be surprised. After all you warned us that this is only the beginning and there are those that are prepared!

In case whether you were wondering whether Preserve Ramapo is actually anti Semitic, you need no further proof than Peggy Hatton’s remarks on lohud.com today. She begins by saying she does not condone the violence and then goes on a rant accusing Orthodox Jews of all kinds of violent crime and even says that the school board and the community that votes for the private school candidates commit violent acts of hate against all the other children. Preserve Ramapo denies it is anti semitic, but all you have to do is read the unguarded words of one of its leaders, Peggy Hatton. She attacks Jews in the most vile terms just at a time when Jews are victims of a violent crime. Be smart voters! Don’t be fooled!!!

Who stepped forward to bail out these thugs? Can anyone find this out? Generally, when bail is set one cannot leave the State. Are these bums going to stay in Rockland until their hearing?

What kind of Quisling Jew walks the streets of this Ramapo unarmed, and willing to be some kind of door mat for the shvartzes. Or perhaps they are practicing to be good little sheep, once again? Of course in reality these Black folks have been emboldened by Jackson, Sharpton, Holder, and Obama, and a poll of majority of the “minority” residents will cite that this is “Justice for Trayvon”…..may they rot in gehinnom, speedily, and the earth swallow up such evil deliquents in a sink-hole.

how does “transported to Rockland County Jail after informing the court that they could not afford to post bail.” translate to these people being freed and/or out on bail? Nothing in the article even suggests that they are free.

I have been explaining to non Jews in Rockland the difference between secular Jews and Haredim. I hope the non Jews understand that we seculars are opposed to the way the school board handles the money, we are opposed to fraud and building illegal dwellings and are opposed to molesting our children. I’m getting tired of explaining this–that secular Jews abide by all laws and that we all need to unite to prevent haredi takeover of every last freedom we have.

I can certainly understand the anti-Semitism in Rockland and live it every day. I hope things change for the better, but it seems things will get worse before they improve. Every day there is an article about something illegal the haredim are doing and I am so tired of only reading negative things.

“Keep in mind, sending text books to Brooklyn (if true) doesn’t cost a fraction of the maintenance of empty school buildings and the millions in payroll for unneeded teachers and staff that the secular school board wasted for years!”

Blind allegiance as usual. Methinks the poster didn’t want to use “doesn’t” but does instead. As for the “empty” school buildings, keep saying it long enough and you’ll believe it. So glad you support theft of materials (religious school books to Brooklyn,) I guess your simple and illiterate mind can justify anything.

One would think that six men in black sitting around a computer screen could come up with a more cogent argument. Oy!
