At some point you have to believe that yidden who voluntarily choose to go to one of the world’s most anti-Semitic countries to daven at some kever of a big tzadik (which they can just as easily do in EY or even NYC) deserve what they get. These mindless pilgrimages to dangerous locations without adequate security invite these types of assaults.
Why do people keep going back to Ukraine? The Ukranians were enthusiastic collaborators with the Nazis back during WWII, and haven’t grown to like us any since then.
Stay out of Międzybóż, stay out of Uman, stay out of the whole country, and let them see what happens when Jewish dollars (or sheqels, or whatever currency you please) stops flowing in.
I think the spending of money chutz l’aretz to visit places of outstanding anti-Semitism should be stopped.
Instead the money should be donated to bring the k’varim of these tzaddikim to eretz Yisroel for their final rest.
Dont see yidden should be so safe in EY
This same thing happened in Poland in 2009 to a bochur visiting Ger or something.
They are just continuing the tradition. Ukrainians have been beating up Yidden for the past 700 years.
