Walla news (http://bit.ly/1h4pxDv) reports that Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, head of Yeshivat Ateret Cohanim, stressed that Jews should not forgive the deportation and should reject the passports.

Aviner also referred to the visit of the Spanish Prime Minister to Israel, when he stated that thanks to the deportation from Spain Jews were able to establish Israel. Aviner says there is some truth to that statement, but said that does not mean they should ask for forgiveness.

Rabbi Haim Druckman, head of Yeshivat Or Etzion, echoed Aviner’s statements. Rabbi Druckman’s wife is a descendant of Jews expelled from Spain.

Rabbi Eliyahu Abergel and Rabbi Yosef Toledano also support Jews declining the Spanish passport.

Methinks R’ Aviner himself holds a French passport, and that R’ Druckman holds an American one, but let’s ask them:

R’ Aviner & R’ Druckman – do you yourselves hold foreign passports?

There is nothing wrong with having a Spanish Passport but the problem is the amount of guilt the Goyim have on their hands is Sky High and it’s unfair for them to assume they can correct it with a mere Passport which no one really needs anyway

    Here is the real BEEF:

If Spain really wants to “make good” on all the shameful evil they have done, they have to reparations just as Germany has done + they have to return all the stolen houses, money and other valuables of all the Yidden whom they persecuted

The same goes for the Avi Avos Hatumah in Rome, his “apology” means nothing until he returns all the stolen Seforim and other valuables (even Kley Hamikdash) which they have hidden in the basement of the Vatican

The same goes for all other countries of Goyim, who want to give the impression that they are no longer SAVAGES, (Chayos and Rotzchim and Gazlonim) which history proves they were, first let them put their money where there mouth is and return all stolen seforim, housing and other valuable…… then later they can “talk” too and we may perhaps even give them the privilage, for their own satisfaction, to give us their worthless and needless Toilet_Paper_Pasports, too

Interesting that both these rabbanim have forgiven sex offenders for recent crimes but can’t forgive the Spanish from something more than 500 years ago.

What would be likely is that Spain will be more concerned about the health and welfare of Jewish interests. It would likely be a blessing for some jews to return and reestablish communities. We can not anticipate a total removal of Jewish interest from any safe nation.

Doesn’t anyone realize this is to soften up Israelis to chas v’shalom accept Arabs for “return” to Israel? Think, people!

It is something to think about. I already have a passport in one other country in addition to US because a Jew has to hedge his bets, so to speak. Ultimately, you never know how things may turn out for Jews in any given location and it is wise to have other places that will be force to accept you should you have to relocate (we all know how valuable Swiss and Swedish passports have become for Jews in Germany and Hungary). And yes, I held that opinion before the current antisemitic regime took over in America.

So yes, I will think of Spain as yet another Plan B (or C?).

Spain is correcting the historical wrongs & atrocities of 500 years ago by this honorable gesture. The laws against full citizenship for Jews were on the books until 5 years ago! So now they are making a modern correction, recognizing Yidden as full citizens. Do all the VIN posters feel better as perpetual second or third class citizens, while at the same time deriding Israel as a proper nation? Gevalt, oh yes, I forgot, it was the Zionists who created the Inquisition in 1455…
