New York, NY – Former Israeli General Aharon Farkash has his sights set on revolutionizing New York’s building security through the use of “biometric” technology, and has opened the first North American branch of his Israel-based company FST21 at 7 World Trade Center.

The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS (http://bit.ly/1hBqBip) reports that FST21’s scanners are capable of recognizing individuals by face, voice, build and stride, which Farkash, the company’s founder and president, said will soon replace security systems across the board.

“This is only the beginning,” Farkash said, “this is the way people will enter buildings in the 21st century.”

Farkash said a simple barcode sent to anyone with a planned visit to a building will allow them entrance after less than a two-second stop in front of one of FST21’s eight square-inch scanners mounted in the lobby.

Farkash, who launched FST21 after retiring as head of Israel’s Directorate of Military Intelligence—the equivalent of the Israeli NSA, said “biometric” technology is simply where things are headed given the current state of things.

“Cities are crowded, often dangerous places, with the gap between rich and poor growing. We need a way to live safely but also comfortably next door to one another,” Farkash said.
