Harriman, NY – A 130-acre stretch of undeveloped land in Woodbury that is now under consideration for the possible home of a major casino and resort, was once owned by a Brooklyn businessman who’s vision for the property was “transit village,” a sprawling residential and commercial community that vanished once the real estate market collapsed.

RECORDONLINE.com (http://bit.ly/1bOFIT8) reports that the land parcel, located just south of the Nepera plant in Harriman and between Route 117 and the Thruway, was bought by Martin Harfenes and his partners in 2003 for $4.9M, but due to the market crash and infighting between Harfenes and his partners, Harfenes defaulted on a $4.3M loan and the land was seized by Woodbury Real Estate Group in 2012.
The land, which currently lists for $14M, is now actively being pursued as a possible site for a casino and resort by multiple major casino development companies, including the Cordish Companies, which markets the Hard Rock brand.
Very convenient to KJ
Misser Haskel…See what Machloykes brings…Would they made peace they would of made all that money now…
Are the lovely residents of Woodbury going to fight this like they do when KJ wants to build? or is this preferable to having Chasidim.
