New York City – Finding Mistakes On Parking Tickets Goes Online

    13

New York City – Glen Bolofsky – the founder of parkingticket.com, a company that fights parking fines – is creating a free Internet program designed to find errors in summonses that could get their penalties dismissed.

The site’s interface is designed to look like a parking ticket.

After filling out personal details about the vehicle and incident, the customer enters data that is on his or her ticket into the Web site. The computer program then flags any information that appears vulnerable to a challenge, such as inaccuracies or mistakes.

Within a few seconds, customers receive the findings.

The NYC traffic Dep’t. has now [for the past few years] handheld scanner/reader/printers that read the vital information off the Registration sticker. The rest is “Checked Off”. So the chance for errors is already [vastly] reduced. Besides, there are very few Harvard graduates among the “Ticket Writers”.

ATTENTION ALL: This parkingticket.com is one huge SCAM!!! I found this site and was also very excited. I filled out all their nonsense and what I got was shocking; it’s a simple letter that any two year old can write. That’s it. You think I got off? No Way! The guarantee? Doesn’t exist. Period. If you read all of their crazy terms you’ll realize that you have better chances getting money from the city then from these crooks.

But why waste my breath. I direct you to, two sites that I found only after I became a victim as well:

    http://wcbstv.com/seenon/Shame.On.You.2.229571.html

    http://www.dcmessageboards.com/lofiversion/index.php/t1217.html

Bottom line is, if there’s such a blaring mistake then you don’t have to pay anyone to find it, you can see it yourself.

    Hatzlocha!

The Finance dept (the agency that runs the parking ticket scam, oops I mean project) have one directive. always put GUILTY down as a verdict. I challenge anyone to post here one ticket that has been dismissed in the last 6 months. (And I mean no PULL either. No mister council member calling the agency on behalf of you.)

It seems that the agency’s operation procedures are as follows.

    1) Have agents (officers) generate tickets.

    2) Offender pays no problem. If offender challenges summons, then

    3) Send them a reduced fine deal. (normally 30% off)

    4) If the defendant still has the temerity to argue the summons – rule Guilty!

    5) If the defendant appeals decision rule in favor of City (even if it goes against the law)!

Most people do not have the time or expertise to take them on. For one thing the most expensive summons in Brooklyn is the $115. That never pays to take off and sue the city in civil court. Cause I am sure when sued in civil court the city will lose on so many of the above mentioned cases.

I say enough! This is double and triple taxation! We should band together and start a class action against the city.

If u scratch just a little on the bar code on your reg sticker the scanner does not read the bar code then the traffic person (bahama) will have to put it in manually and 70% chance u will find a mistake
