Jerusalem – An anesthesiologist is being investigated by authorities after a Haredi woman claimed she was sexually abused while hospitalized before giving birth Tuesday.

Maariv (http://bit.ly/1jBOXoO) reports the woman, hospitalized at Shaare Zedek Hospital, claims the doctor touched parts of her body and kissed her while she was weak with an epidural.
The woman says she tried wake her husband up who was sleeping in the next room, but he never woke up. When her husband woke up, he called the maternity staff to report the doctor.
A friend of the family, Haim Reicher, states that while the police were investigating the anesthesiologist was able to continue working in the hospital, and only after they requested an update from senior officials did they learn he had been suspended.
A statement from the hospital said that they are cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation.
