Boca Raton, FL – Obama: My Jewish Name Is Baruch

    31

Boca Raton, FL – Obama told a crowd at a local synagogue, to ignore false Internet-fueled rumors that he’s Muslim – he is Christian – and other attacks that question his allegiance to Israel and Jewish causes.

“Part of, I think, the tradition of the Jewish people is to judge me by what I say and what I’ve done,” he said. “Don’t judge me because I’ve got a funny name, don’t judge me because I’m African-American.” Obama faced tough and skeptical questioning from the crowd.

One man told Obama that his friend said he would vote for him only if he changed his name to Barry. When Obama was a child, his family called him Barry, but he began using his formal given name later in life.

Obama responded that his dad was from Kenya. “Barack,” he said, “means the same as baruch [a Hebrew word] – it means one who’s blessed.”

At another point, Obama got hit with a question about his associating with some people who don’t support Israel and he was asked directly to name Jewish friends who are not politicians. Obama gamely named a few but defended his association with people with whom he disagreed.

“We gotta be careful about guilt by association,” he insisted.

Brief interviews with audience members following his remarks suggest Obama continues to face an uphill battle in the Jewish community.

“He’s a very articulate person,” said Simon Mizrachi of Boca Raton. “But I’m voting for McCain

We have goyim calling themselves with jewish names now?

We had a goy acting like a jew in Lakewood….

We had a “frum” person in Monsey selling trief to Klal yisroel for many years…..

If everyone can just be normal and be themselves we will all be better off!

I would sooner vote for a Muslim than a Crusading Christian.

Evangelicals want nothing good for Israel, unless you think that dying in a nuclear Holocaust (c”v) is good.

Pincus is absolutely correct. These evangelicals are fanatics too and McCain asked for their support. The republican have brought nothing but hardship on this country under Bush and McCain would be no different than having a third Bush term G*d forbid.

all you barack lovers are fools. He is an unknown entity who had pandered to the far left to get him his prior jobs.

better put your boat in the Mcain harbor, at least we know the “enemy within”. Unlike the Obama potential fiasco.

I am ashamed of all the jews that make comments like this………

obviously, not one of you can articulate any legitimate comments without being as vial as uneducated street thugs.

This might be the first descent president this country has had in a long time.

Whats the difference between these kinds of comments and the anti-semitism of the pre-WWII European kind?

We were victims of this kind of stuff for centuries….so now we feel comfy..we do it to others…I thought we were supposed to be a shining example to the world….not reflect all its ugliness.

    have a great shabbos all

Next thing he’ll tell you is that his family name was Abramowitz before the war. After the war they shortened it to Americanize it a little.

    Baruch Abramowitz = Barak Obrama.

    Right!

I am more concerned about a Neturei Karta member making in Arabic anti-Israel propaganda on an Arabic TV network and the Jewish antisemite Norman Finkelstein than the ascendancy of Senator Obama to the presidency

For the Jews he is Baruch, for the Arabs he is Osama. In reality he is a plain politician trying to get your vote and in the end kick you in the behind.

    “Baruch” Obama??

We have hit a new low in pandering for votes.

What’s next for Baruch, barry, Barack Obama. Claiming that he’s a Kohen?

The very fact that he stoops this low in his pandering tells all.

Personally, I do not know enough about him. However, he does not seem to have the “finish” and experience one needs for office.

I also do not trust him. He does not have that ring of truth. But, that also may be his inexperience. He may not have enough practice in his lying. But that is a political skill one actually needs.

Do, I trust the other two more? Not really.

But, Hillary is just too scary.

McCain, had the finesse and skill, but lacks forsight and depth of understanding of issues. However, he seems to have more than Obama has.

I do not like any of the three. But, I think McCain will cause the least damage.

Obama told the entire country the that his name Barak means “blessed” when he was the keynote speaker of the democratic national convention back in 2002. He wasn’t even thinking of running for president then. (He was trying to get Kerry elected.) So why does everybody seem to think that he just made that up for the Jewish vote?

    “back in 2002”

    I meant 2004 not 2002.

I am not Jewish. I heard that Obama took great pains to not deliver his speech in a certain part of the synagogue. What is the significance of this? Did he wear a yarmulke while in the temple?

    Thank you

I am not voting for either Barry Obama (or whatever he wants to call himself this week) nor Hitlerly Clinton. We all know it was she running the White House while Bill was re-enacting George Washington slept here so that should cancel her out.

I would vote for a man like Teddy Roosevelt – who is no longer alive but would be a great answer to our problems both domestically and abroad. In fact why not do just that? In 2004, he won over 42,000+ votes. What a statement that would create!!!

And as Lou Dobbs says – with the amount of people in the US that we have — this is the best we can come up with to run for the presidential office? Something is terribly wrong!

By the way, anyone who has been to a church for over 20 years and has never heard his “mentor” speak like he has – either has clogged ears or was asleep on all of those Sundays. And perhaps his wife should answer why she is finally proud to be an American when she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and went to the best that money could buy for education. Perhaps she and her cohorts should thank the Jews for helping in creating the NAACP and other organizations for people who otherwise would not be given a fair chance.

    Shalom!

You people are too stuck up, I was born in America, I wish for this country to do well, for my children to do well here, and my grandchildren, but not just them, I wish this for the people around me, I went to school, I learned a great deal about politics, and how things work. Our country is falling apart from this war, and Obama is the only one who seems to care about fixing it. Sure, we’ll have more money with McCain, but is it really worth it, in the long run? watching our neighborhoods become slums? just so we can have a little extra cash in our pockets for the time being?
