Nyack, NY – All southbound lanes of the Tappen Zee Bridge are closed due to a man who had abanded his vehicle mid span and is climbing up the cables of the bridge. New York State Police are on the scene, Fire Departments from Nyack, Tarrytown and Irvington, also Aviation and FD boats with divers are all responding to the scene.

The 39-year-old man from Pearl River, has just jumped off the bridge into the Hudson River, numerous FD Marine units and Rockland County Chopper-1 are on the scene searching for the jumper.

Marine-5 has located the victim and he is in cardiac arrest and likely to die, CPR is now in progress and EMS is awaiting them at the Westchester side shore.
Expect delays on the bridge due to police activity of the fatal jumper off the bridge.

I wonder if anyone has statistics but it seems that more people jump of of this bridge than any other.
Do the two updates that are 7 minutes apart indicate that she was in the water for only that amount of time yet she suffered what will be fatal injury from the water?
Does drowning cause cardiac address? Or something else about the jump?

The reason why people choose the tappan zee is because its very close to the water so its not so scarry

They should electrify all the bridges, this way they immediately get zapped, avoiding all the helicopters , divers and gawkers.

People jump so often that there is a phone on the side of the bridge that connects directly to a hotline. There is a sign that says something like “It’s not so bad.”.
Poor person, he/she probably had it real hard that he made a decision on such a fatal mistake.

and let other people know, that death is not a better choice than life in any case, may it be the “most successful death, it still leads to death”, there is no fun down there after death, especially when we know that there is a big din vecheshbon awaiting all..
