The report which was published last week by The Telegraph, cites unnamed Western security officials, saying that the deal is reportedly for hundreds of missiles and communications equipment. It also claims that Hamas has already provided a down payment on the weapons.

The ministry statement said “This is utterly baseless sophism and sheer fiction let loose by the U.S. to isolate the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) internationally.”

“Lurking behind this propaganda is a sinister intention of the U.S. to justify its criminal acts of backing Israel driven into a tight corner by its recent unethical killings in the Gaza Strip of Palestine.”

The rebuttal from the foreign ministry was carried in a statement late Monday by the North’s official KCNA news agency.
