Brooklyn, NY – Senator Simcha Felder came out emphatically in favor of his former boss and ally, Assemblyman Dov Hikind, giving him a resounding endorsement last night on Hikind’s radio program and dismissing Nachman Caller as a viable alternative to the incumbent assemblyman.

“An endorsement means there are choices,” said Felder on last night’s radio show. “Sometimes there’s no question. I don’t even know why there are signs all over the place ‘Vote for Hikind.’ If people don’t understand that there’s only one choice, and that choice is Assemblyman Dov Hikind, then they should move to another neighborhood. Maybe they will find somebody in their fantasy that will represent them.”
Caller had mounted a Senate campaign of his own against Felder two years ago, hoping to face off against the popular Democrat as the Republican candidate in the 2012 election. As previously reported on VIN News (http://bit.ly/1E8nPsD), Caller ultimately bowed out of the race, making room for then Senator David Storobin to run against Felder, saying that he had never intended to run for Senate but had been merely been trying to keep momentum going for Republicans in the district.
Pointing to Hikind’s 32 years of service to the 48th District, Felder asserted that there was no need for new blood to represent the area in the State Assembly.
“If somebody chas v’shalom needed a doctor, they would look for someone who had experience,” Felder told VIN News. “Why wouldn’t we want the most qualified and most experienced person representing us here? Dov understands the district’s needs and problems and is an expert at taking care of his constituents.”
Simche i usually disagree with you but this time you are right on the button.
Dov is the MAN that always fought for every issue in Boro Park representing every single ethnis group. Dov my family has 11 voters and it all goes to you. Hatzlocho and we are looking forward for you to serve us .
If people don’t understand that there’s only one choice, and that choice is Assemblyman Dov Hikind, then they should move to another neighborhood.
Excuse me? did he really say that?
Anybody can run for office and to dismiss someone as non-existent is just wrong. If Hikind has a better plan than Caller, by all means, post it. But you do not get to discard someone else’s candidacy as irrelevant.
Politicians, like diapers, must be changed regularly. And for the same reason.
Go Hikind you the man!!!!!
What happened to the councilman? He is running Caller’s campaign but is not ready to endorse him officially?
There’s no question that Dov deserves and we need for him to be re-elected. Caller is a decent guy but apparently has become a political junkie, having run against Simcha and now against Dov. Caller is also dabbling in the Casinos in the Catskills issue. His efforts could cause tremendous damage to the Monsey Jewish community. The 2,000 new affordable apartments in BP is a halucination. Greenfields endorsement of that “plan” is another scam upon BP voters. Is new housing for BP actually a NY Assembly issue ? Or is it actually a New York City issue? Why exactly didn’t Greenfield come up with this great new plan? Isn’t Greenfield a New York City Council Member? So, if we’re to understand this clearly, Caller wants to go to the Assembly for City issues and Greenfield is shirking his duties and suppports Caller in this make believer Housing Plan. Aren’t we lucky to have such a fine candidate!! (as well as councilman!!)
Hikind all the way!
Go Dov!
Unfortunately some politicians who have been in power for umpteen years were too busy expanding all family bank accounts to see to it that neighborhoods expand. All that time and all that opportunity. You want more of the same? You deserve it!
Sigh. Politics.
