Jerusalem – Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef on Monday asked the papal ambassador to Israel, Archbishop Giuseppe Lazzarotto, to enlist the help of Pope Francis and the Catholic Church in easing the tension and violence in Jerusalem and Israel that has beset the country in recent weeks.

Yosef met with Apostolic Nunico Lazzarotto at the offices of the Chief Rabbinate in the capital and said that religious leaders should use their influence to impart to the adherents of their faiths the central concept of the sanctity of life and the requirement to refrain from shedding the blood of others.
“Jerusalem was given by God to the Jewish people thousands of years ago and we do not need to need to concede our sovereignty over it, but at the same time the Bible says ‘My house will be a house of prayer for all peoples,’” Yosef told Lazzarotto.
“Therefore we must allow people from all faiths to pray there if they so wish, while our utmost desire is to prevent bloodshed and to reduce the tensions, [because] the purpose of faith is to bring good and peace to all, and not the opposite, God forbid,” the chief rabbi continued.
Yosef pointed to his call to Jews not to visit the Temple Mount, which he has ruled is forbidden by Jewish law, although he underlined to Lazzarotto that this ban is not the renunciation of sovereignty of the Jewish people over the site, but stems from its great sanctity which he said was the birthplace of the Jewish people.
“We cannot as a people allow a situation in which through the Temple Mount and under the guise of a war in the name of religion, murderous terror is deployed against the citizens of Israel. We expect that the pope and the Vatican will demonstrate a clear voice of condemnation to these violent actions and not stand back,” Yosef said.

The pope and his religion is idolatry. Why is the Rav turning to a symbol of idolatry? He should turn to the government of Israel and insist that every Jewish child in Israel learn the Torah of Hashem and the words of Jewish prayer. “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have established strength because of Your adversaries, in order to put an end to enemy and avenger.” Tehillim 8:3
It is surprising to me that the prime minister of Canada can speak up for Israel and the Jews and this “leader” of christians can’t, or hasn’t. Thank you very much for saying we still have the covenant with Hashem, but why aren’t you standing up with us in times of distress?

WHY IS OUR CHIEF RABBI GOING TO THE VERY PEOPLE THAT TORTURED US FOR 2000 YEARS including to this day sends missionaries throughout the world attempting to convert JEWS? Why arent all the rabbis concerned about this vatican poop never ever ”’using the name ISRAEL’ but he only refers to ISRAEL AS THE HOLY LAND?
Is it because the xtians THINK they replaced us Jews and they are in or will eventually posses as the xtians demonstrated recently by profaning our HOLY KING DAVIDS TOMB WITH INSENSE AND CROSSES AND ASSORTED PAGAN ICONS AS THEY ALSO DID AT THE KOTEL?
Respect the rabbis but we must LOOK TO HASHEM.

With our prayers to Hashem to lead us we will be able to decern from one rabbis wisdom to HASHEMS..If we pray for Hashem to guide us and learn a little Torah

and if you dont pray but you believe in TORAH AND HASHEM
then just add in a small little psalms TEHELLIM in your daily life.
So the pope’s religion is idolatry and the government of Israel is heresy.
