He said that while he understood there were families concerned about the effect of vaccinations, he said the science was “pretty indisputable.”

“We’ve looked at this again and again. There is every reason to get vaccinated, but there aren’t reasons to not,” he said, adding: “You should get your kids vaccinated.”

He said the larger the group of unvaccinated people, the more vulnerable it made small infants and people who cannot get vaccinations because of health issues.

There have been 91 measles cases in California, with at least 58 of those epidemiologically linked to a cluster that began at Disneyland in December. More than a dozen other cases have been confirmed in 13 other U.S. states and in Mexico.

No deaths have been reported in connection with the outbreak, which public health officials suspect began when an infected person from outside the United States visited Disneyland in Anaheim, California, between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20.

The measles outbreak has renewed a debate over the so-called anti-vaccination movement in which fears about potential side effects of vaccines, fueled by now-debunked research suggesting a link to autism, have led a small minority of parents to refuse to allow their children to be inoculated.

Some parents also opt not to have their children vaccinated for religious or other reasons.‎

Schools should not non-vaccinated children into class.

Yes, Yeshivot and day-schools, too. Especially Yeshivot where children learn in big Bais Medrashim for hours at a time.

Infants and really sick kids (leukemia survivors or damaged imuno systems) are at greater risk due to lack of vaccinations by kids who should be getting their shots.

The only way to protect the weaker kids is called ‘heard protection’ where mmr outbreak becomea statistically less likely as there are less kids susceptible.

Please vaccinate your children on the APA recommended schedule most pediatricians rely on.

You can protect the lives of your own children and the weakest in our community also.

Does he think he knows better than Ha-Rav Hagaon Shmuel Kamenetsky Shlit”a? He and his Rebbetzin think vaccinations are a bluff? Who should we listen to?

If Obama’s telling us to vaccinate, that’s another reason not to!!! The MMR vaccine is deadly!! Would you take autism or ADHD over measles?? Measles is just a childhood disease that passes in a couple of days.. And # 5, Harav Kemenetsky Shlita does urge not to vaccinate.

I second that – if Obama says it- one more reason not too:) Although I do vaccinate my kids this is a one sided uninformed article. Many of the kids getting/passing the measles disease are already vaccinated. You are still a carrier so it is not protecting those at risk by vaccinating. Vaccination comes with many other side affects than the ‘supposed autism’ . Do your research and make an informed decision but to say that anyone with half a brain would vaccinate is a very wrong assumption. Most non vaccinating are way more educated on the issue then those that do.
(they just follow the ‘herd opinion’ most times)
