Tehran – In an interview with NBC’s Ann Curry (http://nbcnews.to/1CBOYXj) Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “distorts the realities” of today and refers to the Book of Esther.

When asked about Netanyahu’s statement that, “Iran’s regime is not merely a Jewish problem, any more than the Nazis were a Jewish problem,” Zarif said, “Well, it is unfortunate that Mr. Netanyahu now totally distorts realities of today. He even distorts his own scripture. If you read the book of Esther, you will see that it was the Iranian king who saved the Jews. If you read the Old Testament, you will see that it was an Iranian king who saved the Jews from Babylon. Esther has a town in Iran where our Jewish population, which is the largest in the Middle East, visit on a regular basis.

“It is truly, truly regrettable that bigotry gets to the point of making allegations against an entire nation which has saved Jews three times in its history: Once during that time of  a prime minister who was trying to kill the Jews, and the king saved the Jews, again during the time of Cyrus the Great, where he saved the Jews from Babylon, and during the Second World War, where Iran saved the Jews.”

In regard to the tweet made by Ali Khamenei that said, “This barbaric wolf-like and infanticidal regime of Israel which spares no crime, has no cure but to be annihilated,” Zarif stated he doesn’t understand why Jews would take offense to that because they are talking about a regime.

“We’re talking about Mr. Netanyahu, who has butchered innocent children in Gaza. We are not talking about annihilation of Jews. We never have, we never will,” said Zarif.

“We have a history of tolerance and cooperation and living together in coexistence with our own Jewish people, and with Jews everywhere in the world. If people want to espouse fear mongering to fan such hysteria in the world, that’s to their detriment,” he continued.

In light of Netanyau’s recent visit to the U.S. and his address to Congress, Zarif said, “he is running for a popularity contest in the United States, interfering in the internal affairs of United States.”

Unfortunetly, the guy is 100 percent right, iran has never expressed any hatred to “jews” more then any other nation in the world, its true, that jews were in gulus even when in iran, but by and large, the jews were always living peacefully, and the increase of anti-semetism in the last dacade is directly related to israeli policies.

Achashverosh was a rosha, just like you and “holy dog” Khamenei, all wanted to kill Jews,
But you will end up like Haman!

How could Iran have saved Jews during the Holocaust? They host a Holocaust denial conference attended by the NK (ymS’vz) every year!

To #4 , please don’t say YMS’vZ on any Jew. They are traitorous dogs, true, but that’s far from YMS. Leave that kind of nivul peh to them and their ilk.
Your remark that they couldn’t have saved the Jews from a non-event is very good.
To #2 , yes, they like the Jews as long as they are subjugated, and they were good hosts, as the Mitzrim were. But our desire for an independent state is really not a good reason to threaten genocide. If we were silver backed apes, we would be entitled to a safe territory, and the Jews in Eretz Yisrael should not be inferior to apes. Why don’t they accept that the Ribono shel Olam granted one small piece of land to the Jews?

It’s deeply saddened me that Iran has fallen under the yolk of such terrible men and seems to be unable to get rid of them. The Iranians are Persians and have the general same disdain for Arabs that everyone else on the planet has. I also recall the pictures on 9/11 when all Arabs were out dancing, people in Teheran did a memorial march and signed condolence books at the Swiss Embassy. I don’t view Iran as the lost cause that other miserable middle eastern countries are, and I daven in my own way that Hash’em will help them become a normal place again.

    My two cents.

Mr. Zarif said: “…it was the Iranian king who saved the Jews.” Had Mordechai and Esther not stepped in, Achashverous would had, thoughtlessly, ,fulfilled the plans of Haman. Maimonides said whoever wants to harm a Jew is ‘Amalek.’
There you have it an arrogant man who rebels against ‘The Holy One, Bless Be He.’
