Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police say a passenger discovered his wallet was missing $576 after he retrieved it from security screening in Terminal C on Monday morning.
Police reviewed surveillance footage. A 52-year-old United Airlines ramp worker was charged with theft.
The money was returned to the passenger, who resumed his travel plans.
Why do any passengers have to remove their wallets, as the TSA and other workers have been known for years to steal cash, and credit cards?
