The controversy started last week when six girls where not placed in a classrooms prompting the Vaad to follow halachic ruling by Gedolim from israel that states all schools need to work as a one team, and not a single school can open until every child is accepted one way or the other in any of the schools available in Lakewood, as of the past half hour those girls where placed in a school.

According to a spokesman from the Lakewood Vaad who told VIN News, that the schools went out of their way to comply with the closure, and has worked out to accommodate every talmidah.

it’s refreshimg to see all the schools complied with the p’sak & i’m happy that those girls were placed.

I sincerely hope that the identity of these girls remain anonymous- specifically among the student body.

I’m sure somehow this too will turn into a forum of people complaining that the schools are forcing them to pay tuition for their childrens education (GASP!!)…

There is still one girl who has not been accepted. Does she not count? They delayed opening all this time for 6 girls, and now that it’s one, they don’t care anymore? What’s the deal here? It’s not fair to this girl, not only will she feel like an outcast, but the embarrassment she will feel is overwhelming.

This is totally absurd. Two thousand girls out of school for a week. Think of all the accumalitive hours – close to 24,000 hours of wasted time. Who’s taking the blame for all this time? I wouldn’t want it on my ‘playtzos’ just because I couldn’t get in to the school of my choice. If the rabbonim and askonim would ignore the parents, then kids would end up in the newer schools by default and then the newer school would be stronger. This goes for the elementary schools as well.

PS- VAAD is a four letter word..

If there is really one girl still out as YOYO claims ,then why don’t you call this girl’s elementary school principal ? i am sure she will call the vaad to find out what happened to her . Unless yoyo means somebody who was placed in school she doesn’t want to go to .

This is a good FIRST step in realizing that our children are not disposable.

Unfortunately, the identities of the girls are known to the students. Many don’t tell their parents, but the kids know who wasn’t accepted. It’s wonderful that everyone went out of his way to get these girls into schools, but it’s so sad that it had to get to this point in the first place.

with school enrollment in Lakewood growing by about 20 % per year its a miracle that everybody gets placed . There is no city in the world with this type of school growth every year .

Why do we have to believe anonymous posters that one child was left out and not placed when the Rabonim and others state that everybody was placed.

Yes, there is one girl NOT placed in school, it’s people like you who will just forget about her, and pretend she doesn’t exist.

At least I’m using a REAL nick-name. You on the other hand…

Let’s hope this gets resolved before the week new week begins!

Good Shabbat Everyone!

(p.s. I know it’s friday, and everyone is in a RUSH to get things done before shabbat begins, but please drive carefully, and responsibly. I (& many others), deal with such awful driving on fridays in Lakewood. Please, we all would like to get home safe an spend a wonderful, relaxing shabbat with our loved one’s).

I just dont get it there is a whole summer to get these children placed why cant the rabonim and the schools hash it out during the summer so that no yiddisha child should have the embarresment and what took a whole week were was the mashgiach then! He should have made a psak and that is that if he is the mashgiach in lakewood take care of it ASAP

As far as I know one girl was only accepted provided she doesn’t live at home! why would they do this to a child? How bad canher home be?

If you knew the circumstances of what is going on in the home, you would understand why they want her not to live at home.

no, i will not tell you what the issues at the home are but i will say they are only doing that because of this girl they are doing it for the safety of the other girls as well.

i will leave it at that.

Because they want to control everyone and everything. Why would you seperate a child from her parents unless it is a danger to her life or health and if it is, then i am sure social services should be called in as i am sure she has more siblings.

I would rather send to a public school if this is how the jewish schools behave.
