Police said Tuesday that 32-year-old Don Carter of Brooklyn was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. It wasn’t clear if Carter had a lawyer.
The attack occurred Monday evening as the 29-year-old victim and her father headed to Kennedy Airport on an A train.
Police say the train was stopped at the Euclid (YOO’-klihd) Avenue station when the suspect approached the woman and slashed her with a sharp object. The suspect then ran out of the train.
The unidentified woman was treated at a hospital and released.
Animals like this chazar are allowed to roam the subways and slice people up because there is virtually no police presence on subways any longer. If you take the subways, you are on your own and better protect yourself accordingly.
I agree 100% with #1 . Years ago, there was one cop on every train, and on every station from 8PM until 4PM. For economy reasons, they were removed. However, during their brief tenure, felonies on the subway decreased by 2/3’s. It is true that when one rides the subway, they do so at their own risk. This type of behavior would not be tolerated on the Moscow subway, the Tokyo subway, the Toronto subway, or the Montreal subway. It occurs in NYC, because the savages who perpetrate such crimes, realize that the chance that they will be caught is very slim.
