When Barack Obama was asked if he would defend Israel in the event of an Iranian attack . He responded, “we must ensure that sanctions are set in place so that Iran doesn’t develop a nuclear weapon”

John McCain’s response; “we would protect and defend Israel at all costs and not allow a second holocaust”

Barack Obama would not openly state that he would defend Israel.

    Shame on Barack Obama !

Obama said more than once that he is willing to use force if diplomacy doesn’t work, but that we have a responsibility to try diplomacy before we start killing people (last part is my paraphrase).

if you will read the context of the debate McCain is a sure winner
the last three questions only McCain answered the questions and Obama did not.
By the question that is the most important to us. Q: If Iran “does” attack (ch”v) Israel will you wait for the U.N. to go to war and defend Israel? Or will you go to the U.N. and wait for them to decide what to do?
    Answers (in short)
McCain:I will not even ask the U.N. (because russia and china have connections with Iran and they are in the U.N. security counsel)

    Obama:…………………….
hmhm hm hm hm hm hm
    (that still not the answer)
okay obama has an answer but not to that question

Obama: we cannot allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.

israel is from our strongest allies.

we have to talk directly to iran before it can happen

diplomacy worked well in the past it didn’t work in the past eight years.

duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you didn’t answer the question.

Rolling Stone magazine has a long but very important piece on just who McCain is. People should read it.

I noticed a good line from Obama that just doesn’t make any sense at all.

Q: If you have such big spending bills where will you cut from the federal budget to save our economy?

McCain: ……………we will have to freeze most projects that the goverment gives money to help the poor……..

……. (okay it’s bad, but at least it’s an answer) ..

Obama: we spend 10 billion a month in Iraq that is from where we will have the money,………………..blah ..blah .blah……………… we will take out the troops from iraq and send those troops to Afganistan for the same money we are spending over there in iraq ..and fight the war .that is more important.

… ( that was a real bad answer to the question. Not only do we not save that 10 billion it will also cost the transport of the troops, that last time i remember cost about 71 billion) so where is your answer Obama? where will you take the money?

I like that McCain loves Israel, but how can America fight for Israel if its President is clueless when it comes to running the country and totally out of touch with the economic and social reality?

Look, you all know that calling Obama a muslim is a lie. Why are you not content to disagree with him on the actual issues? There are plenty of those. Let’s behave ourselves on erev YK.
Hat tip to Tom Friedman for this quote in his column today from Justice Oliver Wendall Holmes: “I like paying taxes. With them I buy civilization.” Couldn’t have said it better.
G’mar chasima tova everyone. Have a gut gebensht yohr and may the best candidate win.

I agree with CNN’s election team. It was not a game changer. Obama slightly took it. McCain said health care was a responsibility, when it is a right, McCain is out of touch and erratic.

But in the VP debate, Biden took it. Took it in a landslide. Palin just said ‘ I don’t want to answer questions’. If you want to talk to the American people Ms. Palin, you will have to answer the debate moderator’s question. By picking Palin, McCain lost the experience argument he had.

I will vote for McCain, for Obama would be a disaster, but his performance in both debates so far is very disappointing.
