West Bank – Video footage emerged on Friday showing a military jeep hitting a Palestinian and knocking him to the ground during clashes near Ramallah. The footage showed soldiers pushing back Palestinian medics trying to reach the Palestinian struck by the jeep.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said border police in a jeep saw a Palestinian run toward an officer with a sharp object as the officer administered first aid to a Palestinian who was previously shot as he threw a firebomb.
She said the driver hit him with the jeep to prevent the attack.
“The commander of the Border Police unit in the jeep ordered the driver to speed up to the [fleeing] terrorist in order to prevent the stabbing,” the police said. “The jeep’s driver ran into the terrorist with the jeep, and the terrorist was stopped. No casualties were reported among our forces.”
Both Palestinians were moderately injured, she said.

Wow! What a blatantly false headline. Then again, it IS the AP.
They did NOT “run the terrorist over”. They knocked into him and stopped the jeep IMMEDIATELY when he was down. I am sure he was only moderately injured at most. They did have alternative: they could have shot him. That would have likely caused this terrorist far greater injuries, perhaps fatal, and put other “innocent” Palestinians in harms way. But this particular truth is difficult to fit into an AP headline.
