    The New York Police Department has posted the hand-written note from Nelli and Eva Makrich on its website.

    Detectives Albert Ramos and Daniel Mulligan were in Los Angeles on official business when they subdued a man who was slashing Michael Makrich on Nov. 18 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    The tourist suffered a neck wound and required surgery.

    His children’s thank you note includes a drawing of an angel, complete with wings and a halo.

    I was going to write that it’s a nice story, but then realized that the guy was minding his own business when slashed probably by a drugged out idiot. So not so nice.
