Buffalo, NY – A state ethics investigation has determined that a former assemblyman from western New York mistreated and harassed female employees and abused his office by using state resources for his re-election campaign.

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics issued its report on Democrat Dennis Gabryszak (GAB’-ruh-zak) Wednesday, finding that the Buffalo-area lawmaker violated the Public Officers Law.
Former staff members accused Gabryszak of making unwanted advances, asking them to accompany him to strip clubs and sending video of himself apparently engaged in a sexual act.
Gabryszak resigned from office two years ago after the accusations surfaced. At the time, he acknowledged engaging in inappropriate “banter” but said it didn’t constitute harassment.
Attempts to reach him Thursday were unsuccessful.
The report now goes to the Legislative Ethics Commission, which could impose a fine on the ex-lawmaker from Cheektowaga.
