REUTERS/Lindsay DeDario Hamburg, NY – A western New York man’s car has finally been freed from a lakeside parking lot where the vehicle was stuck for three days after becoming encased in ice several inches thick.

    Four workers from a towing company used 350 pounds of a deicer and shovels Wednesday to free the tires and remove 24-year-old Justin

    Yelen’s Mitsubishi Lancer from the parking lot at a restaurant on the Lake Erie shore in Hamburg, just south of Buffalo.

    Yelen says he was drinking with friends Sunday night when he decided to leave the car in the lot and get a ride home.

    High winds from lake-effect storms sent spray over the car and lot, freezing the vehicle in place. The resulting ice sculpture that got millions of views on the Internet.

    The car is thawing out at a body shop.
