The officer, a housing sergeant, was walking to a relative’s house after his shift when he said he was surrounded by three men. One had a gun and another had a knife, police say. They stole his cell phone and noticed his shield. Police say one of the suspects said: “Shoot him, shoot him,” in Spanish.
The sergeant drew his off-duty firearm and shot one of the suspects in the torso. The other two fled on foot. The 18-year-old suspect was in stable condition.
Two knives were recovered at the scene. Police are investigating.

too bad the suspect is still alive. Blue lives matter.
There would be a lot less muggings and robberies if we all were able to carry firearms
