Pune Maharashtra, India – Alarmed by the attack on Mumbai’s Jewish community during the recent terror attack, the Pune police have prepared a list of about 150 Jews in Pune to ascertain if there is any threat to their lives.

The exercise is a suo moto initiative by the special branch in collaboration with the local police stations, under the supervision of the deputy commissioner of police Ravindra Sengaonkar to identify the minority community members.
The survey revealed that all community members reside within the jurisdiction of the Cantonment board and Samarth police stations. The survey further reveals that the community members often congregate at the Ohel David Synagogue on Ambedkar road for prayer services and at the Chabad House in Koregaon Park for celebrations and get-togethers.
Assistant commissioner of police Savita Turekar (special branch) said that all the police stations have been given special instructions to keep a tab on the community’s activities as a precautionary measure. Turekar refused to divulge more details for security reasons.
However, additional commissioner of police Rajender Singh (crime) has refuted reports that the police have provided security cover to Chabad House and other places owned by the Jews.
Pune is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra in western India, around 160 kilometers southeast of the state capital, Mumbai. It is also the eighth largest city in India.

yes… a list of all Jews, so now someone with mental case gets ahold of it, where they live etc. and they can just go door to door.
Making lists of Jews is a throw back to another time – and with Moslems a hefty enough chunk of
India’s population is Moslem (mind you Pakistan and Bangladish once Indian territories not enough for Moslems – they want all of India and come to think of it the whole world to convert to Islam or else) security compromises and failure enabling the Mumbai attrocities – the idea of “lists” except for those of Islamic terrorists is a bad idea. How about the families of those making lists of Jews in India makes lists of their own families and addresses for security. After all not only Jews were murdered by Islamic terrorists!
