“His words and actions over the last several days are so shockingly unacceptable in our diverse and democratic society that it is simply unthinkable that Donald Trump could become our president,” Klarman said of the Republican presidential nominee.

The president and chief executive of The Baupost Group told Reuters in an emailed statement that Trump’s suggestion “that the election will be rigged is particularly dangerous.”

“I will continue to find ways to support Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump,” he said.

On Monday, Trump told a town hall event in Columbus, Ohio, that he thought the November election might be “rigged.” Trump’s attacks on the Muslim parents of a decorated American soldier, Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq, have drawn sharp rebukes since Khizr Khan and Ghazala Khan appeared at last week’s Democratic convention.

Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Klarman, whose Boston-based investment firm manages $29 billion, is registered as an independent voter. But a review of filings showed that his political giving has largely benefited Republicans over the years, including donations this election cycle to political action committees that supported primary candidates Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and Marco Rubio.

He has also given to the campaigns of Democrats, including now-U.S. Senators Cory Booker and Mark Warner, according to the filings. He contributed $4,600 to Hillary Clinton’s 2007 presidential race, while also giving to the campaigns of Republicans John McCain and Rudy Giuliani.

In June, Klarman gave $5,400 to Clinton’s campaign.

“He is completely unqualified for the highest office in the land,” Klarman said in his statement, without specifying how he would further support Clinton.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Trump doesn’t want to be President and is using his own comments to sabotage his campaign? He cannot handle losing straight out but he can handle losing if there’s lots of blame fodder to throw at his opposition and explain why he unfairly lost.

I just signed up for an account so that I could respond to this article. I am shocked at people like Mr. Klarman (is he frum?), who are apparently not knee-jerk lefties and yet who are lining up against Trump because of his bad midos. Give me a break! So that means that Mr. Klarman and his ilk are more ruffled by blustery talk than by outright crimes and flagrant acts of lying and deceit, as have been committed by Mrs. Clinton. Never mind her bad midos as exhibited in her enabling her philandering husband to do his dirty deeds with women, whether they are affairs at best or felonies (including breaches of international law) at worse. Are you telling me that the choice for the “most powerful position on earth” comes down to emotions?! “I just feel so icky from Trump’s comments.” So pathetic. Obviously, the choice should come down to substance: as in the candidate’s respective ideas, policies, cohorts, integrity, etc. But even if people like Mr. Klarman are going the emotional route, please allow a moment or two for your outrage to grow from the evils of Clinton. See “Clinton Cash” and every Conservative website regarding the joke of Mr. Khan. Oy vey!

I agree 100% with #5 . In spite of some of Trump’s unfortunate remarks of late, the fact of the matter is that overall, he is a far better candidate than Hillary. The Clinton Foundation has accepted money from countries which sponsor terrorism. There was a conflict of interest, because that foundation accepted money from countries which Hillary was negotiating with, while she was Secretary of State. Several Secret Service Agents have sworn that they saw Hillary throw a vase at Bill Clinton’s head, causing him an injury to his eye. Her volatility and hostility and bad temperament, far outweigh any of Trump’s negatives. Hence, I will be voting for Trump on Nov. 8th; actually, it will be before that date, since I vote by absentee ballot, several weeks before the election.
