It is the duty of every “monotheistic Jew” to help these people, Golestaninejad said.

He called on his coreligionists to support Gazans with their financial, medical and food aid, Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Zionists behave against the teachings of Judaism, adding that any assistance to the Zionists is considered religiously unlawful, he said.

He denounced the atrocities by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip, expressing hope that peace and stability will prevail in Beit-ul-Muqaddas in the near future

I’m no Zionist, but somebody living in a country like Iran can’t say anyhing else!
He most likley got put up to it by the Iranian Government, with the promis that it will help Jews living in Iran.
One has not to forget that Jews, in Iran, are second class citizens and that its laws are anti-semitic above all!
It’s my hope that our Jewish brothers and sisters, who live in Muslim countries, will make an effort and leave there as soon as possible. They not only put themselves, but also their families lifes in risque!

He doesn’t sound different from many of the anti-zionists on this site and the Eida Chareidis and Satmar.

sounds like he has to say to protect his community.
i don’t believe that he meant one word.
we need to help get them out of there.

jews all over the world today are not safe (even in the usa…..did you see the video of ft. lauderdale protest?….)
but jews in arab countries are especially unsafe… once barak hussein osama …oops i meant obama will be president… i geuss it will be as though we are living in a muslim country as well.

p.s. read the article in NY post (today) regarding israel and obama.. its a good artile criticizing obamas lack of saying anything in regards to the israel situation..

    Hashem yishmor and Hashem yeracheim…
the only thought that can keep us sane in these trying times is to think and say ‘HInai Lo Yanum V’lo Yishan Shomer Yisrael!!”
Mashiach will be here very soon!! Amen!!

The story is still too fresh to make judgment calls about this proclamation by the head of the Jewish community in Iran. It is possible that living in Iran which is Sakanas Nefashos one needs to do what you can to get along with the government there. It is becoming clear that Iran is supporting the terrorist in Gaza and therefore considered it to be an extension of their own country. To say anything but sympathy for the terrorist in Gaza can be viewed as going against their own country which could be punishable by death. The hope is that at least they will be treated as good as the Israelis have treated the terrorist in Gaza until now.

How different is this from the Jews of the so-called “Paradise Ghetto,” Therezinstadt, being forced by the Nazis, yimach shmom, to say they were being well-treated, in order to make propaganda for the Nazis and fool the Red Cross visitors? Or the official leaders of the Jewish communities in the old USSR being forced to say there was no anti-semitism under Communism and denounce Israel? Only a member of the Neturei Karta would be stupid enough to believe this Iranaian Jewish “leader’s” statement at face value.

    To #13
    “Beit-ul-Muqaddas?”
    Literally “sanctified house” ie synagogue.
Arabic is very close to Hebrew. Muqaddas = Miqaddosh. (Beit is the same in both languages).
