Manhattan, NY – FDNY on the scene at 1468 Madison Avenue and East 98th Street for a confirmed fire that has broken out on the 2nd floor of the 12 story Mount Sinai Hospital and has already grown to two alarms.

The FDNY said multiple units are on the scene and fire can be seen pouring from the building, partial building to be evecuated.

U/D:
Fire has been upgraded to a 3 alarm fire, smoke throughout the building and 600 patients are being moved from the east wing of the hospital to the west wing. Police are calling for level one mobilization.

Fire Department reporting that at this time the fire is under control.

my grandfather was on the 10th floor and it was filled with black smoke. they were ordering all visitors and patients who can walk to leave.

remember there is an open rutunda going up all the way to the top floor .

I think its now under control.
