“Such an attack threatens every Israeli, and Israeli officials in particular,” the warning said.

Israeli security bodies are completing assessments of terror attacks Hizbullah may be planning ahead of the anniversaries of the assassination of two of its officials – former Secretary-General Abbas Musawi on February 16, 1992, and operational officer Imad Mughniyah on February 13 of last year.

The warning issued on the bureau’s website was rated as “a very high concrete threat”.

The Counter-Terrorism Bureau advises Israelis traveling abroad to take a number of security precautions, including maintaining a high level of alertness and sensitivity to any abnormal occurrences.

Traveling to countries the bureau has explicitly warned against visiting should be avoided, especially Arab and Muslim states.

The bureau also advises citizens to reject any tempting and unexpected offers, whether for business or pleasure, from suspicious or unfamiliar sources. Unexpected meetings in remote areas after dark should also be avoided.

Precautions should also be taken in the streets, for example Israelis should not enter taxis that stop for them without being asked.

Another piece of advice issued by the bureau is for Israelis staying abroad for long periods of time to change their routine – for example, switching hotels, changing standard travel routes and constantly switching between restaurants or other venues visited.

I wonder why they would want to pick a fight with Israel right now. Does it make much sense from a political standpoint? Maybe Iran is asking them to so they can say the deterrents that Israel claims it re-installed doesn’t work?
