The IvankaTrumpHQ account tweeted Saturday : “Make champagne popsicles this #MemorialDay.” The tweet included a link to a roundup of ideas of things to do on the holiday weekend. In addition to a recipe for champagne frozen pops, the post included ideas for picnics and barbecue food for the holiday weekend known as the unofficial start of summer.
Some criticized the post as being insensitive to the true meaning of the holiday.
Trump, who serves as an official in her father’s administration, issued a solemn tweet on her personal account Monday, writing: “Today we honor the men & women in our armed forces who have lost their lives to protect our freedom. Thank you for your service.”
But no the press is not on witchhunt. Trump is making it up.
Stupidity.
Ill advised but no big deal.
Lady, they’re dead, remember? It’s MEMORIAL day. You can say something like, “we honor their memories and their sacrifices”, “we pay our respects to our heroes, and extend condolences to their loved ones”, but “Thank you for your service” is just clueless. “Thank you for your service” is for Veteran’s day, when addressing someone who’s alive.
100’s if not 1000’s of other businesses advertise for Memorial Day sales and promotions, but none of them get noticed. As soon as it has Trumps name on it (President or not), the media blow it out out of proportion.
To paraphrase Mr President, All press is good press! At the end of the day, Trump will be laughing all the way to the bank!
Hmm, lifestyle brand champagne ice balls. No doubt they’re glatt kosher and great for DWI. The spoiled apple doesnt fall far from the Yam.
