Iraq – Two Canadian and one British hostages held in Iraq for nearly four months in captivity, have been freed by multinational forces in a carefully planned military operation.

Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32, were freed along with Briton Norman Kember. All three were members of an international peace activist group.
The U.S. military says the rescue of the three hostages was based on information provided by a man captured Wednesday night.
