The military also set up checkpoints around the villages of Beit Surik and Bidu on Wednesday, which neighbor the settlement where Tuesday’s attack took place.
Nimr Mahmoud Ahmed Jamal killed three Israelis and critically wounded a fourth outside the West Bank settlement of Har Adar before he was shot dead.
The army says engineers mapped out Jamal’s home in Beit Surik, west of Jerusalem, ahead of its demolition.
Israel demolishes the homes of Palestinian attackers as a deterrent measure, but Palestinians consider the policy collective punishment.
Israel also canceled the entry permits of several of Jamal’s relatives in response to Tuesday’s attack.
My kid kills someone speeding recklessly, so the State takes away my license? I don’t understand the value of this sort of “collective punishment;” it was declared to be a war crime after WWII…and in any event, after decades of use in Eretz Yisroel it clearly has not achieved it’s intended purpose.
Sorry #1 but your comment makes no sense. If your son kills someone by accident nothing will be gained by punishing you after the fact. However, when someone premeditates a murder he will likely think twice if he knows how his family will suffer afterward. What you said that it’s obviously not helping is ridiculous as well. I would be willing to bet that it is helping and the vast majority of these potential terrorists refrain from these murders because of the consequences. There will always be diehards that don’t care about anything.
To #2 - It was the “curse Golus”, namely the USA, which saved your country, during the Yom Kippur War, with the massive airlift; don’t forget that!
