“This decision is a regrettable decision that France does not approve of and goes against international law and all the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council,” Macron told reporters at a news conference in Algiers.

Trump reversed decades of U.S. policy on Wednesday and recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and said he would move the embassy to the city, despite warnings from around the world that the gesture further drives a wedge between Israel and the Palestinians.

“The status of Jerusalem is a question of international security that concerns the entire international community. The status of Jerusalem must be determined by Israelis and Palestinians in the framework of negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations,” he said.

Macron, who has developed a good working relationship with Trump since taking office in May, spoke to the U.S. leader earlier this week to try to convince him to change his mind.

“France and Europe are attached to a two-state solution – Israel and Palestine – leaving side by side in peace and security within recognized international borders with Jerusalem the capital of both states,” he said, adding that Paris was ready to work with partners to find a solution.

    He called for calm.

“For now, I urge for calm and for everyone to be responsible. We must avoid at all costs avoid violence and foster dialogue,” he said.

Sorry Mr Macron – this was not Trump’s decision – this American LAW was passed by the Full Congress of the United States of America in 1995. You were too young to remember this LAW since you were a little boy still – 22 years ago. But every President since then did not obey the LAW of the United States and President Trump had the “courage” to come out and remind us of this LAW.

“unilateral”?! Since when does a sovereign country need to consult with France before making policy? Their European/French arrogance is encasing them in a bubble that unwarped minds would never think of.

Of course Europe doesn’t like President Trump’s decision. There are many more Muslims in Europe than America — fear or votes.
Of course Fatach & Hamas hate it. It signals a possible income loss.

Mr Macron why don’t you regret the fact that jews are fleeing Paris in droves thanks to the lovely peaceful muslim immigrants of that city?

does France think some other country will have to tell her who her capital is and if the Eiffel Tower belongs to France?

Macron had to say that, as he is afraid of his peace loving Arab residents rioting, and perpetrating atrocities, in his country!

Macron is paying lip service to the majority terrorist residents of his country in an attempt to kiss up and try to keep them Fromm committing more attacks. Shameful and cowardly. He should take A lesson from the courage of Mr. Trump.
