A photo shows the woman wedged underneath the train holding the hand of an MTA construction worker. The Manhattan-bound train apparently missed her and she became jammed between the rail and the wall.
Police say it happened at the Bedford Avenue station in Williamsburg just after 11 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters pulled the woman out about 20 minutes after she fell.
Fire officials say she was hospitalized in serious condition.

Why would you stand near the edge of the platform? Last in first out also.
Are you? Normal, I mean? I am astounded by the callousness of posters on this site. But then again, with years of reading experience, I shouldn’t be.
Why doesn’t New York City follow examples of other countries, like Japan for instance where barriers are permanently affixed to the station platform preventing anyone on the tracks prior to entrance of the train arriving at the station platform.
