Kushner heads up the team seeking to restart Israeli-Palestinian talks. Other members of his team — Jason Greenblatt, the lead negotiator, and David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel — will also be present for the ceremony on May 14, the 70th anniversary of Israel’s founding according to the Gregorian calendar.

Those five members of the delegation are Jewish.

Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan completes the delegation and will lead the team, the White House said in a statement released Monday.

Trump had considered attending the embassy opening. The president has said he is proud of his Dec. 6 announcement on the relocation of the embassy from Tel Aviv. The move has led the Palestinians to abandon Kushner’s efforts to revive talks, at least temporarily.

Israel’s embassy in Washington, D.C., is planning its annual Independence Day party for the same day. The embassy party usually takes place on or near the Hebrew calendar anniversary of Israel’s 1948 independence, which this year was on April 19.

The new embassy grounds, on land in western Jerusalem but bordering eastern Jerusalem, are temporary. There are plans to build a permanent embassy, but it might take up to 10 years.

Ahead of the move, the U.S. Embassy’s twitter handle changed Monday to @usembassyjlm from @usembassytlv.

Jared may wear a yarmulka in general a little more often to demonstrate a little judaism. But that we leave to him. But for the “holy” embassy opening there will be mostly unaffiliated Jews. None of them working in the government of the “holybStstebof Israel” are religious besides the few chareidi clowns.
If Jared shld wear a yarmulka is one story. Thats his business. The embassy unfortunately has 0 judaism to itself so if he doesn’t wear it at hi times then who the h needs it there? Alle a bande kofrim.

I respectfully ask, what is your definition of “Kiddush Hashem”? And why cant a question of wearing a Kippah be asked without an insulting comment. Cant we have a discussion?
If I may? I don’t see this as a Kiddush Hashem at all, and I also don’t see Jared or Ivanka representing Modern Orthodox (or any Orthodox) ,the mark of an Orthodox woman is her Tznius- say what you will but Ivanka is not a woman of Tznius.
Ivanka and Jared are representing the president and the White House , that is fine, but please, don’t make them out to be what they are not.

Can we please have a little “Derech Eretz” for each other…We can share opinions, we can each be right and we can each be wrong- sharing opinions will allow us to see, if not accept, another point of view. I ask again, what is your definition of “Kidush Hashem”?
Also, A person mentioned Jared’s love for Judaism. Unless you are a personal, initmate friend, and know what goes on in his home, you cannot attest to his love and devotion. This seems to be more an assumption than actual knowledge.
