New York – Sick of cleaning all day? Now do it all week. Then do it all year. Then do it for 210 years.

As the time of our cheirus approaches (and our precious kids keep pestering us with “Why do we have to clean the whole house for Pesach?!”), the key to its spiritual theme just may be found in its grueling physical groundwork.

Calling all talmidei chachomim—could it be that chometz housecleaning is intended to make us feel what slave labor is really like? Let us know which if any Rishon/Acharon/gadol/Rebbe says as much; we’re sure that at least one does.

With that in mind, when we gather around our Seder tables this Wednesday night and declare ourselves bnei chorin, let’s really mean it—with a little stimulation, perhaps, not just from our sacred Hagadahs, but from our sore hands too.

VIN News wishes you and yours and kosher and happy Pesach—and next year, will celebrate the Chag HaMatzos in Yerushalayim.

In observance of the Passover Holiday VIN News will be offline from April-8-2009 7:00 PM, Until Saturday night April-11-2009 9:00 PM

What Rabbi C.P. Scheinberg does say, is that Spring Cleaning is NOT required and staying awake for the complete Seder is required. So listen up yiddishe mamas, Stop it already!!!
Best wishes for a Chag Kosher v’Someach!

Matzoh farfel makes me laugh. Some matzohs breaks on the assembly line. Sell the broken matzoh for less? No way! Break them much more, then sell them for double the price per pound of unbroken matzoh!!

Who buys matzoh farfel? Is it so hard to buy whole matzohs and crumple them?
