Rockland County, NY – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand made her first official visit to Rockland as a senator today.

She attended the Nyack Springfest street fair, then held a meeting with elected officials and local business leaders at U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel’s West Nyack office.
She was also scheduled to sit down with New Square Grand Rabbi David Twersky, visit Aim B’Yisruel, Charna Hall and hold a fundraiser at a local residence.
Gillibrand was appointed in January by Governor David Paterson to replace Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s vacated senate seat.
Gillibrand, who was previously a U.S. representative with a constituency around Albany, will be up for election in 2010. To get to know her new constituency base before that election, she’s been setting up meetings similar to the ones in Rockland all around the state.
Don’t tell me that some more people from New Square have to be pardoned

I want to echo the #15 , I had an amazing Shabbos in New Square as well. The community was very welcoming to me. It seems that people from all walks of life visit the community often.
