Swastikas were spray painted on two walls of the office of Elizabeth Midlarsky, professor of psychology and education, at Columbia Teachers College. The word “YID” also was spray painted on a wall of the office of the professor, who is Jewish and who researches and publishes about the Holocaust.

The vandalism was discovered on Wednesday afternoon. The New York Police Department is investigating the incident, the Columbia Spectator student newspaper reported about two hours after the graffiti was discovered. All Teachers College academic buildings require an ID for entrance, according to the Spectator.

“I was in shock,” Midlarsky, who is 77 and says she is in poor health, told the newspaper. “I stopped for a moment, because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

“We unequivocally condemn any expression of hatred, which has no place in our society. We are outraged and horrified by this act of aggression and use of this vile anti-Semitic symbol against a valued member of our community,” Teachers College President Thomas Bailey said in a statement.

In 2007, Midlarsky was the victim of anti-Semitic vandalism at the university, when a swastika was spray painted on her office door and anti-Semitic fliers were left in her mailbox

This ugliness is becoming more commonplace, especially on our “elite” campuses.

No reason to condemn this vandalism or the vandals who did it.

They might be some of the very fine people the president knows among the Neo Nazis.

Columbia University and Barnard College encourage anti-Semitism in the form of anti-Israel left wing groups, and especially pro-Palestinian groups, attacking Jews and Jewish groups on campus, especially those who are recognizable by their dress, by their research and teaching interests. This reported hate graffiti is one result of these university policies.

This is what happens when CNN and the UN lets people like Marc Lamont Hill have free reign to spew their hatred lies

The alt-rechte, goose schlepping yidden commenting here will no doubt cry wolf, but in truth Columbia is the opposite of what trumpf wants to make of America. No free speech. Constant gag orders on the media. Deporting undocumented immigrants. IMPEACH and RESIST. MULLER NOOSE JAN1 .

It bothers me that the “very fine people” remark has been conflated as showing approval of Neo-Nazis by people who hate Trump no matter what he says. It is true that President Trump often fails to engage his brain before putting his mouth in gear but I thought that in that case, POTUS was, in fact, referring to those otherwise ordinary folks who just didn’t think that Confederate statues should be removed. One doesn’t have to be a racist or an anti-Semite to simply not want to mess with the established art work.
