Washington – ‘Dumb’ And ‘lazy’: Trump Lashes Back At Tillerson Criticism

FILE - U.S. President Donald J. Trump (C) speaks to the media during a Cabinet meeting at The White House in Washington, DC, USA, 20 December 2017, alongside US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (L) and US Defense Secretary James Mattis (R). EPA-EFE/Chris Kleponis / POOLWashington – President Donald Trump, never known for taking criticism lying down, responded to unkind words from his former secretary of state Rex Tillerson on Friday by calling Tillerson “dumb as a rock” and “lazy as hell.”

During a rare public appearance in Houston on Thursday evening, Tillerson, the former Exxon Mobil CEO, discussed his difficult tenure working for Trump. He called the president “undisciplined” and said the president “doesn’t like to read, doesn’t read briefing reports, doesn’t like to get into the details of a lot of things.”

Tillerson also said Trump frequently asked him to do things that he had to explain were illegal or otherwise ill-advised.

It was an extraordinary rebuke from a man Trump once said would be “a star!” at the State Department.

And it was met with an even more biting response Friday from Trump, who lavished praise on Tillerson’s replacement while demeaning the man he chose as his first secretary of state but later fired.

“Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed,” Trump wrote.

“He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!”

Last year, Trump apparently had a higher opinion of Tillerson’s abilities, calling him “our wonderful secretary of state” and declaring that “we work well together.”

    Hmmmm…..

Strong praise for Pompeo. Wonder if he’ll be the next one Trumpy throws from the train. Or under the bus. Not to his face of course. That would require a spine. Maybe Trumpy can borrow one from Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell. Neither of them are using theirs.

Tillerson was the chairman of the Exxon Mobil Corp formerly Esso. I doubted that the largest energy Corp in the world would have appointed a dummy. President suffers from Logorrhea or diarrhea of mouth

It was Drumpf with the “very smart brain” who chose to hire Cohen, Manafort, Flynn, Sessions, Tillerson and Omarosa.Drumpf is doing a great job of pointing out his weaknesses to everyone. Even John Kelly has had enough. What a pathetic individual. Sad how the Drumpf supporters all said that he would sorround himself with the best people. What a sad joke. Don the con is clearly unfit for the job.

This is the talk of an insecure and mentally disturbed individual. Our President is not a healthy person. Very fine that he moved the embassy to Jerusalem but he’s still a disgusting person.

Trump does not mean a word he said, to be true. He is doing a good job, but he never backs off a schoolyard fight like 6 year olds. Don’t think Tillerson is much better, you lost the job or couldn’t work with the Donald, just move along.

The instability in the US Cabinet under toxic trumpf reflects how his childish mind really works. The next few months he’ll become more unglued with Sick Nick Ayers as chief of staff, with Mueller indictments, with Democratic control of the House and with more foreign policy disasters and Market flops dead ahead. trumpf=failure…

The two of them were bad shidduch from the start. Tillerson is data and fact driven and disciplined. Trump is an undisciplined huckster for whom facts are inconvenient.
