Monticello, NY – The video was shot by a resident security camares on April 28 2009. and was posted on Times Herald Record web site. The bear seems to have no fear of humans or dogs. It keeps sneaking up and looking in the windows.

The couple lives on Starlight Rd. in Monticello. There are also 2 other bears, they look like they are yearlings and they come into the yard and play at night.
Clean uo your garbage and you wont have this bear coming smelling food.
To bad bear is not kosher !!!!!
Another reason why people shouldn’t go to the Bungalow colony. Besides for the price, tznius issues, now they have to worry about bears.
Either move to a more urban area, or just grin and bear it.
Mmmmmmm Porch Kill!!!
Come up with your rifles this year. There will be an increase in bears this year. They are not pleasant to meet when you are sitting alone on your porch for a midnight snack perusing Vos Is Neias.
And its no small bear either! its at least as tall as the fence around the porch! Folks even the black brear who are less dangerous are no fun to meet when your not expecting them.
Blame the environmentalists and animal-lovers who have created a political climate in which it’s difficult to promote vermin control. In an earlier time, if hunters weren’t keeping the bears down on their own, the state would offer a bounty until the problem was under control.
Wild animals do not belong where people live. Now the enviros tell us “the bear is not intruding on your territory, you are intruding on its territory”. The world exists for the benefit people, not for animals. The animals exist for the benefit of people. Bears do not own any territory; they can remain in whatever territory people aren’t using, but when people start using an area the bears must be cleaned out of it.
wat’s the likelihood these bears branching out closer to us in the mountains that one day we’ll meet them in brooklyn heaven forbid?
we all know not to leave garbage outside so the bears don’t show up. it seems to me someone left on the porch corn on the carb and some more ot their dinner. what does one think a bear won’t show up?
Those particular bears need to be shot.
all joking aside……DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN UNATTENDED!!
I just spoke to trooper he said that Monticello has THE LEAST BEARS of the whole sullivan County.
#12 , “corn on the carb”! you are going back in time now we use fuel injectors.
Milhouse, that is the least intelligent nonsensical drivel I’ve ever heard in defense of wiping out wildlife. Bears, and many other animals, do own territory. They are TERRITORIAL animals, who range over a certain area, fighting other bears that come into their area, much like you and other thick headed people. As for the world being for people and not animals…animals came first, genius. Please, read a book, learn about the world outside your own little distorted view and stop trying to justify exterminating species by claiming humans are better and above animals. I can think of many that are better than some people.
