He recalled as “one of the most solemn moments of my stay in Israel” his visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, where some Israelis had said his speech lacked the personal note they wanted to hear from a German of his generation.

The 82-year-old pontiff said Yad Vashem reminded him of his landmark 2006 visit to Auschwitz — a time when he did mention his background as “a son of the German people” in World War Two.

“At Yad Vashem,” he said, “those deeply moving encounters brought back memories of my visit three years ago to the death camp at Auschwitz, where so many Jews … were brutally exterminated under a godless regime that propagated an ideology of anti-Semitism and hatred. That appalling chapter of history must never be forgotten or denied.”

The pope, who has been criticised by Jews for among other things reinstating a bishop who denied the extent of the Holocaust, also repeated his call for religious dialogue.

“We are nourished from the same spiritual roots,” he said. “We meet as brothers, brothers who at times in our history have had a tense relationship, but now are firmly committed to building bridges of lasting friendship.”

It is amazing that we are critisizing a German Goy for not displaying the proper emotions. Are you out of your minds??? What about the so called Jewish leaders who aided the nazis in the murder of 600,00 Hungarian jews. What about Chaim Weitzman, Ben Gurion, Yitzchock Greenbaum, who kept the murder of 12,000 a day silent so that they could achieve thei goal of a Jewish state?? What about the followers of Menachem Begin who were handed over by the Jewish “leaders” to the British to be tortured and hanged?? Did those murderous swines ever repent? Did they ever show remorse? Did they ever admit their guilt?
But I guess it would not be politically or Agudish correct to question them. After all, the Porushes, Moshe, Mendel and Meir with all their holy co-horts forgave them in the name of Klal Yisroel, as long as they could be a part of the government and receive their fat stipends (sanctioned, of course, by the Gedolim). Well I guess the Talmud was right when it said “Hakesef Metaher Mamzeirim”…
Leave the pope alone and look into your own back yard, or even the front yard. Maybe even look at your own so called Gedolim and redirect your anger and fury back home where it truly belongs…
How many of you illiterates are aware of the fact that most of the writings of the previous pope that were favorable towards the Jewish community were actually drafted by the present pope?
Don’t tell that to the Hamodia, Yated, Mishpacha or the other Zionist publications with the Frum, Chassidic facade. I doubt they could handle that and I would hate to spoil their forthcoming Shabbat.

Brothers indeed. Never forget the Esau (Esav) hates Jacob (Yakkov). At times Esau acted as a Tzaddik and appesed his father but he still hated Jacob. Jacob gave him presents so he let him live, but he still hated jacob. No matter what Esau hates Jacob.

    Learn from this ppl. Learn.

Moderation is the Key, striking the proper balance is the question!
