New York – Yemeni-Americans are criticizing the New York Post over its front page last week that featured a photograph of the burning World Trade Center and a quote from Democratic Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar that some say was dismissive of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

On Sunday, The New York Times reports the Yemeni American Merchant Association announced a formal boycott of the tabloid after Yemini bodega owners in New York had earlier agreed stop selling the newspaper.
Last week’s front page featured a quote that came from a recent speech the Minnesota Democrat gave to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, in which she described the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center as “some people did something.”
“We support free speech, but we will not accept the incitement of violence against Muslims,” said Debbi Almontaser, the secretary of the board of directors for the merchants.
“What the New York Post is doing is endangering the lives of American Muslims and people of color,” Almontaser said.
The merchants are demanding that the newspaper apologize to Omar and to the Muslim-American community in New York.
A spokeswoman for News Corporation, the parent company of the New York Post, declined to comment.
Also on Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she has taken steps to ensure the safety of Omar after President Donald Trump’s retweet of a video that purports to show the congresswoman making the remark along with news footing of the hijacked airplanes hitting the Twin Towers. Trump captioned his tweet with: “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!”
Neither Trump’s tweet nor the video included Omar’s full quote or the context of her comments, which were about Muslims feeling that their civil liberties had eroded after the attacks.
Pelosi was among Democrats who had criticized Trump over the tweet, with some accusing him of trying to incite violence against the Muslim lawmaker. An upstate New York man recently was charged with making death threats against her.
Who cares about those protesters, and their nickel and dime boycott? WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!

Now this is the Democrat narrative. These imbeciles, terror supporters, get to say anything they want, and calling them out on it is victimizing them! These creatures are disgrace to humanity. The community needs to notify all of our Democrats that are in office that this is reprehensible, and will get our response at the ballot box. Tell Nadler that the support from the Jewish community is zero. Same for the others. I wish them speedy retirement.

there are no Yemeni Americans, they are Arabs, simple, just like there are no so called Israeli arabs, they too are Arabs, there are no so called Palestinians they are arabs. parah adom.
The Post, New York Time, Wall Street Journal is not endangering the Muslim community, Omar is-get it right-Omar’s words were quoted. Bann together and be vocal about the harm Omar is doing to her own community.
She was dismissive and disrespectful of what HER Muslim brothers brought to the United States. She should not be a member of congress.
“Some people did something ” – is a statement reflective of a mindset. The murder of nearly 3000 fellow citizens is heinous enough- but when put into context of a complaint over the reactive anti-Islamic sentiments created therefrom, it demonstrates Omar’s identity as a minority first and an American secondarily. The boycott is further demonstration of prioritizing the community over national interests. Therein lies the danger of Democrats prioritizing politics overs national security.
Yemeni-Americans own bodegas? Wouldn’t they call them the Arabic equivalent? ( What is the Arabic equivalent? “Bodega” means “store house” en Espanol.)
Short & simple, Omar and Rashid are both well planted moles! The amazing thing is that she condems the non-existent dual allegiance of Jews, while at the same time aligning herself,100% with radical Islamic organizations, like CAIR.
I still dont get the logic of the Yemeni bodega owners.
The NY post is just explaining what Omar conveniently left out.

The article headline is a disservice to the reality.
Its nothing to do with Yemen, but is specific to Muslims. It wasnt Yemenis who attacked on 9/11, it was Muslims. Omar, speaking to CAIR seems to have conveniently forgotten that, and dismissive of the responsibility that it constantly holds to denounce terrorism.
This is the quote in context, which (IMHO is worse):
“Because here’s the truth — here’s the truth: Far too long, we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen, and frankly, I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
Too bad I read my copy on line and don’t patronize the people who patronize the people who did something that our towers fell
