About a hundred demonstrators gathered in front of the Court House on Comodoro Py street, demanding the release of the suspects.

Five of them were arrested as they clashed with members of the Jewish community as the latter were celebrating the anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel. Seven others were arrested days later during a raid in Florencio Varela, charged with arms’ possession and being members of a criminal organization.

Talking to reporters, a demonstrator said “we’ve got nothing against Jews…. We’re here to request the release of the people arrested and defend human rights.”

“We’re here to protest against (City Mayor Mauricio) Macri, who was present at a celebration organized by a murderer state,” she added.

The anti-Zionist attack was condemned by officials of the Kirchnerite administration. Nevertheless, they dismissed that there could be an outbreak of antisemitism in the country.

Nothing against Jews, just support the release of people who want to harm Jews… I’ll buy that.

People have a right to PEACEFULLY protest…. even to protest our activities. I fully support that right 100%. The voices of the people should never be silenced in a free country. If these people turned violent or physically tried to inject themselves into something, then they do belong in jail for whatever time the law prescribes… no more… no less. The mere fact that they are antisemites is not a crime and they should not be held purely for that reason.
